Training of PHC staff on compliance with the Code of Marketing of Breastmilk substitutes | News

1-day sensitization workshop for primary health care staff on compliance with the Code of Marketing of Breastmilk substitutes, organized by Alive & Thrive, in collaboration with Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board, and National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control NAFDAC, at conference hall, Na’ibawa.
The objectives of the workshop are to equip the participants with knowledge on key issues in Maternal, Infant, and Young Child Nutrition, MIYCN, including Code for the Marketing of Breast Milk Substitutes implementation issues and monitoring; sensitize healthcare workers on their role on Code Compliance, identifying areas for further support and reflect on how NAFDAC, state and LGA actors successfully work together to address poor enforcement and Breast Milk Substitutes, BMS Code monitoring and other nutrition activities; and secure commitments from the PHC health care workers on addressing Code non-compliance and promote MIYCN programming through their various platforms.
