ODORBON inducts members in Kano | News

School of Health Technology Bebeji/Optometrist & Dispensing Opticians Registration of Nigeria inducted its first sets of students of Dispensing Opticianry at a well-organized event at the state headquarter of Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board, Na'ibawa, Kano.
The Executive Secretary, Dr. Tijjani Hussaini made a keynote address at the occasion where he stated that the journey to starting of the program was initiated while he was Director, Public Health, Kano State Ministry of Health, and that now that the first graduate comes on board, he feels fulfilled.
He enjoins the graduates to abide by the ethics of their profession, and become entrepreneurs not only waiting for the government to provide jobs for them so that they can become self-reliant.
He also commended the Executive Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR, for his support since he became governor to the health sector where he achieved tremendous milestones, which includes the schools of health technology Kano, Bebeji, and Hygiene under College of Health Sciences and technology. Therefore, called on the general public to vote for Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna so that these achievements could be continued from where Dr. Ganduje stops.
In his speech, the principal School of Health Technology Bebeji Kano, Mukhtar Ismail Gwarzo, stated that “today, we also have the privilege of witnessing our first induction ceremony for the first batch of graduating students of this school. I pay profound tribute to all who performed their roles in this exodus and who contributed their time, resources and expertise to conceive this vision that has today grown into an ebullient reality”. He congratulates the inductees for this feat.
The Registrar, Optometrist and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria, Prof. Ebele Bridget Uzodike, congratulates the school for producing the pioneer sets of Dispensing Opticians, and enjoins them to be good ambassadors of the board and their school. He thanked Dr. Hussaini for his central role in starting the program at the school.
An award was given to the best graduating student by the board and a position of being an ambassador of the board for the next 12 months. Dr. Hussaini also instituted an annual award for the best student, which he gave an unspecified amount of money to the best student, and made a promise that he will fulfil later.
